To me blogging has to be one of the better work at home opportunities that I have found.  It seems to be pretty secure and you only have to worry about your advertisers.  If you use an advertiser like adsense or yahoo publishers, you should be good to go.

Try to create regular blog entries that readers enjoy and you can build up a nice following and traffic!

Hi Jessica,

What kind of blogs do you have and how have you been monetizing? Blogging is great for making cash but it's not as fast as most people would like to believe. You need some skill and luck to build traffic.

You can blog about latest news, comment on products etc. Something that the general reader will be interested in and soon you'll get your traffic. Also, if you concentrate on a certain niche that is in demand, like..skincare, i'm sure it'll be pretty easy to earn money with all the monetization as well!

I've just started a blog on renting flats and houses but am not sure how much effort to put into it.

Do people make a lot of money from a good blog (eg over £50 per month) or is it just peanuts (eg £2-3 per month)?

sky is the limit.  a lot of people probably make peanuts, but if you are lucky and get a lot of traffic and have a lot of articles, you could make a lot.  it depends on a lot of factors.

Very simple, I recommend that you just sign up for google adsense or some affiliate programs once your blog has a good amount of content and is respectable.  Once you are approved to adsense you can add the custom google adsense code to your web pages and they will automatically show advertisements based on what your topic is on the page.  You will get paid a certain amount per click.  All payments are sent after you reach $100.

I hope this helps.  You might need to do a bit more research, but this should get you started and off on the right foot.

Some great advise shared by all I have to agree with Jessica, blogging is a real good way to start making money online.

Yes, it does take time as your blog posts will have to be indexed by the various Search Engines, but if you keep at it, it will definitively pay off in the long run.

The key is to keep posting original content as the search engines loves fresh and creative content and even then the process of being ranked will be a slow one. This is where traffic comes into play

Article marketing works well for me and so does posting on forums. Be sure to include your website or blog link when posting articles or commenting on posts. This way, when some one clicks you links , you receive incoming links to your website and this helps to ultimately get ranked better and faster by the search engines.
